Our principals, Peter Kutrubes, Richard Benevento, Leonid Velichansky, and James Fitzgerald have extensive and diverse experience in planning, permitting, and designing transportation related projects. Their experience spans the full spectrum of transportation services for state, municipal, private, and institutional clients.

Peter N. Kutrubes. Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. Mr. Kutrubes is responsible for advising clients on matters pertaining to site access and feasibility; transportation policy, planning, and design; and overseeing all technical efforts in the areas of site permitting, transportation planning, and traffic and transportation engineering. Mr. Kutrubes has provided professional engineering and planning services to a wide array of public and private sector clients. He has served in a professional capacity with the Massachusetts Highway Department (MHD). Over a 37-year career with the Massachusetts Highway Department and predecessor agencies, Peter was responsible for the design and construction of countless traffic and safety improvement projects, as well as highway lighting projects. |

Richard J. Benevento, Principal / Director of Marketing. Mr. Benevento has over 30 years of experience completing transportation infrastructure improvement projects. Mr. Benevento has a diverse background in transportation planning, engineering, and regulatory permitting. Specializing in transportation infrastructure Mr. Benevento has a broad range of experience and in-depth knowledge in all phases of design and permitting of both private development and public infrastructure projects. Mr. Benevento’s experience and success in securing public funding for projects has earned him recognition as an authority on federal and state funding programs. He has assisted cities and towns throughout Massachusetts with grant and funding assistance utilizing Federal and State Aid programs totaling over $100 million. |

Leonid A. Velichansky, PE, Principal. Mr. Velichansky, P.E. has over 29 years of experience in transportation engineering, serving both public and private sector clients. His public sector clients include municipalities, DOTs, Turnpike and Transit Authorities. His private sector experience includes Universities, developers and contractors. Prior to joining Traffic Solutions, Mr. Velichansky managed the transportation department in a major engineering corporation in Boston, where he was responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing technical performance of transportation planning and design projects. Lenny was involved in projects that used both conventional design-bid-build and design-build delivery methods. Many of these projects demanded extremely aggressive schedules. |

James D. Fitzgerald, P.E., LEED AP. Principal / Municipal Group Leader. Mr. Fitzgerald has provided professional engineering and planning services to a wide array of public and private sector clients for over 16 years. He oversees all areas of traffic engineering from complete highway/ intersection design to in-depth traffic studies to multi-faceted analyses as well as provides professional engineering guidance to clients. Mr. Fitzgerald is also responsible for public coordination, scheduling, and consultation during construction. |
